Biography:
Dr. Anna Osiecka joined the forestry program at the NFREC in Quincy as a
Biological Scientist in 2001 and was promoted to Senior Biological
Scientist in 2006. She has been involved in research and extension in
various aspects of forestry with an emphasis on the evaluation of the
effectiveness of forest fertilization best management practices (BMP’s)
in protecting ground water quality.
Dr. Osiecka brings to the forestry program her diverse international
horticultural experience. For eleven years she conducted research in
the field of plant tissue culture and was responsible for plant patent
applications and trademark registrations at Oglesby Plants International
in Altha, Florida. Before coming to Florida in 1990, Anna worked at
research institutions and commercial companies in her native Poland, the
Netherlands, Germany and New Caledonia.
