Tillage
Professor of Agronomy
Area of Specialization:
Cropping systems and conservation tillage techniques.
Emphasis has been on sod based rotations and economic and environmental
advantages of using this approach.
Education:
B.S. Agronomy,
Tennessee Technological University
M.S. Soil
Chemistry, Virginia Polytechnic Institute
Ph.D. Forage

Research Interests:
Research has looked at how conservation tillage influences crop yield,
physiology, soil characteristics, and economics of production. Much of our
recent efforts have included transgenic crops, especially cotton and corn.
Current interests include sod based rotations to minimize pest problems
while maximizing yield and water availability for sustainable crop
production. |
