- Pecan/Chestnut Field Day
North Florida REC - Suwannee Valley, Live Oak FL. In
keeping with the Small Farm/Alternative Enterprises focus of the
Center, the Pecan agenda includes topics for smaller scale pecan
producers. The program will include management of Chinese-American
hybrid chestnuts and a tour of chestnut varieties planted at the
Center. Included on the program are discussions of truffle and
shiitake mushroom production. Registration begins at 8:30am and the
program runs through mid-afternoon. Lunch will be provided by
