Post-Conference Information

A conference was held at the University of Florida's North Florida Research & Education Center in Quincy, Florida on February 20 and 21, 2003 to address the potential of integrating hay and cattle production into row crop production systems in the southeastern United States. The conference was supported by the USDA SARE program and Cotton Inc. Twenty-eight papers and posters were presented.

The University of Florida, University of Georgia, Auburn University, USDA/ARS, and Cotton Inc. hosted the Sod Based Cropping Systems Conference to compile and discuss information on integrating cattle and hay production into cropping systems. The conference, which focused on cattle, pastures, and crops, was led by international experts and noted speakers from across the U.S. The conference provided a venue for those interested to learn and discuss important topics regarding sod based cropping systems.

The conference proceedings were published on a CD, containing over 200 pages of written material, and is available upon request from Jim Marois. The individual papers (PDF format) and Presentations (PowerPoint format) can be downloaded below:
