NFREC-Suwannee Valley Research

Live Oak, Florida

The UF/IFAS North Florida Research and Education Center – Suwannee Valley (NFREC-SV) is the host location for many field days, workshops, and tours during the year. Most educational programs are provided for farmers, both full-time and part-time, but participants also include Master Gardeners and youth throughout northeast Florida.

These events are planned and delivered as a team effort of county extension agents throughout the area, state and regional faculty in conjunction with the staff at the Center.

The Center at Live Oak is well known for its research and Extension activities related to greenhouse hydroponics.

Testimonial

“NFREC-Suwannee Valley is a valuable resource for my research program. They have the infrastructure I need as a researcher, including greenhouses, organically managed land (certification in progress), irrigation and equipment. The experienced and dedicated staff contribute so much to my program as well as the quality of my experience there. Thanks, Live Oak!” Danielle Treadwell, Horticultural Sciences Department.
