Dr. Liza Garcia
Research Coordinator, Agronomy
Dr. Liza Garcia graduated with a degree in Marine Biology from Jorge Tadeo Lozano University in Colombia. During her undergraduate studies, she worked on research projects focused on coral reefs and wetlands. She later persued an M.Sc. degree in Biological Sciences at Texas Tech University, where she conducted research in population genetics. In 2014, she joined the North Florida Research and Education Center (NFREC) as a research assistant. She subsequently began her Ph.D. in the Agronomy Department at the University of Florida under the direction of Dr. Jose Dubeux. Since 2020 she has been working as the research coordinator for the Beef and Forage Program at NFREC. Her expertise focuses on ecosystem services from beef-forage production systems, including measuring animal performance, pasture characteristics, nutrient cycling, and enteric methane emissions.
